Ulcinj is the southern coastal city of Montenegro, located very close to the border with Albania and that's why the major population of the city is Albanians. It's a pretty small city but it is a popular tourist destination because comparing to other beaches in Montenegro, it has sandy beaches which is nice especially for tourists with kids. Ulcinj differs from most Montenegrin cities because the major population is muslims. There are few mosques in the city.
There is an stony climb which you can reach from the main city beach and there is a lovely view from the top to the sea and city. A lot of tourists come to Ulcinj because of its well-known camping center. There is a long sandy beach Velika Plaza, located next to Ulcinj. It is 12km long, very wide nice beach which has camping opportunities as well as other tourists. There are a lot of hotels around what makes it comfortable for tourists. Velika Plaza is perfect for kids because it's not deep and it's super safe for kids. And because of the sand, kids can build sandy castles and play different games. You can find some animators for kids as well. Beach bars offer drinks, food and ice-cream for all kinds of tourists.
If you choose Ulcinj as tourist destination, you can also visit Albania since it's so close to the border. Ulcinj has all needed infrastructure for comfortable rest - supermarkets, bars, restaurants, dance clubs, bus station from where you can go to other cities.
