The "Blue Flag" is a program that is running by the independent non-profit organization "The Foundation for Environmental Education - FEE" (Foundation for Environmental Education) based in Copenhagen. The blue flag is a symbol of high standards of environmental protection as well as quality sanitary and safety conditions on beaches and marinas.
The first Blue Flag for 2023 was ceremoniously raised at the beach "Bella Vista" in Bečići. The ceremony of raising the first Blue Flag in Montenegro for the year 2023 was symbolically held on June 8, on the World Day of Oceans and Seas. This prestigious environmental recognition was awarded to as many as 40 beaches and one marina in Montenegro. This season in Montenegro started with 40 beaches and 1 marina that were awarded with "Blue Flag". This is the list of beaches: - In Tivat: "Plavi Horizonti" and Uvala Pržna and "Kalardovo Beach",
- in Budva (20 beaches): "SBS", "Blue Beach", "Escallera", "S and I beach life" and "Poseidon" on Jaz, "San Trope", "Time out" on Slovenska beach, „Dukley beach“, Zavala, "Dolcevita", "Sveti Toma 2", "Samsara Deluxe", "Bella Vista" in Bečići, then "Kamenovo 17A", "Kamenovo 17B La Suerte", on Kamenovo, "Galija" - Crvena glavica, "Pura Vida" - Drobni Pijesak, "Ponta" - Petrovac, "Lucice", Uvala Lucice, „B5“ and „Bridge“ in Buljarica.
