November 14, 2022Energy tourism is a new branch of the modern touristic industry. It becomes popular only now due to the economical and energy crisis in the world and in Europe in particular. There are a lot of European countries that experience a great increase of the cost of energy and heating and it’s forecasted to be a problem for some countries. But it’s said, any crisis is an opportunity to learn and for the growth. So the solution for such situation is truly awesome.
There are also some European countries with soft and warm climate during the winter season and with much lower prices on energy. Montenegro is one of such countries. Even it’s not very southern country, it’s location on the sea, makes Montenegro one of the most appealing options for cheaper, pleasant and inspiring winter. And considering that during pandemic more people moved to the online work format, more people received an opportunity to change location and move easily.

Disadvantages of Winter in Montenegro
Of course it wouldn’t be fair if I would write only about advantages. But as I always say, if you are aware of those challenges that you might face in a new location, you can transform disadvantages into advantages and enjoy the season even more. The more you’re prepared and open for the new adventures the more joy and happiness you will feel.
- There are not many flights or bus connections from other countries during winter so you might need to learn all possible options of how you can get from your country to Montenegro. So it might take pretty long time and different connections. But again, if you are ready, you can make from it a great trip!
- Winter season is very wet season so the humidity in the houses is very high. It’s better to ventilate rooms and drain them to avoid mold appearance.
- There could be more rains than during other season but this is probably how in other countries so it’s not really a disadvantage.
- The days are shorter so when you travel, you need to be ready that day time is pretty short and the roads could be slippery. But with the proper equipment and preparation you can get maximum from any trip.
